Dato’ Abdul Hamid bin Yusof
Dato’ Abdul Hamid bin Yusof was recruited into the JMF as a private in 1892. He was promoted through the ranks to Lieutenant in 1897 and transferred to the Muar Garrison. In 1917, he was promoted to the rank of Major and was one of the officers mentioned in the London Gazette for his duties and contribution during WW l.
In 1919, he held the rank of Lt. Colonel and was appointed as a member of the State Cabinet. In 1931, Sultan Ibrahim appointed him the fifth Chief Minister of Johor. He passed away on 28th December 1934.
