Lance Corporal Ahmad Abdullah

One of the members of the Royal Johor Military Force (JMF) honored to participate in the 'Victory Parade' in London on June 8, 1946, was Lance Corporal Ahmad Bin Abdullah. He was born in Johor Bahru in 1912 and received education in both Malay and English schools in the city. His father, Sergeant Major Abdullah Bin Mohamad, also served with JMF in 1924. His deep interest in a military career followed his soul, and with encouragement and spirit inherited from his father, he joined JMF in 1935. As a loyal member, he dedicated his service with full dedication and engaged in various activities within his unit.

During World War II, he, along with other members, participated in operations directed by his officers. His role during the enemy's invasion of Malaya was consistently observed by his superiors. When the war ended, Lance Corporal Ahmad Bin Abdullah was selected to represent JMF in the grand Victory Parade held in London in June 1946. Indeed, his presence in London added to the

image of JMF, which was well-known not only in the region of the Malay Peninsula but also respected and honored by other military forces from dozens of countries participating in the celebration of the significant victory for world peace. While in London, the JMF contingent also received the honor of King George VI, who personally visited and interacted warmly with the soldiers, including Lance Corporal Ahmad Bin Abdullah.

In 1948, he changed his career path by joining the police force and subsequently became a member of the Home Guard in 1950. This field he ventured into was challenging as the Home Guard often faced the ruthless communist insurgents during the Emergency in Malaya (1948-1960). Lance Corporal Ahmad Bin Abdullah concluded his service in the Home Guard with the rank of Inspector.

On May 20, 1986, he passed away at his home in Kampung Skudai, Johor Bahru, after dedicating a significant portion of his life to the military and security field.
