Religious Programmes
The religious programs attended by the Johor Military Forces are as follows:
DEPARTMENTAL LEVEL
These are the religious celebrations are held at the Dato' Hj Mohd Lip Bin Bedu mosque and within the compounds of Sultan Ibrahim Campsite: -
- Awal Muharam (the First Day of the Islamic Calendar Year)
- Assyura (the Tenth Day of the Muharram)
- Birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)
- Israq Mi’raj (the Day of Prophet Mohammad’s Night Journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and His Ascension to Heaven)
- Nisfu Sya’ban (the 15th night of the month of Sha'ban, the eighth month of the Islamic Calendar Year)
- Congregational Tarawih Prayers during Ramadhan
- Reciting and Completing of the Quran during Ramadhan
- ‘Eid ul Fitr (Festival of Fast Breaking) congregational prayers and ‘Eid ul Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice) congregational prayers
- Sacrificial offering during ‘Eid ul Adha
- Friday Prayers
- Islamic Religious Classes
- Weekly Quran Recitation on Thursdays
- Islamic Funeral and Death Rites Courses
- Islamic Slaughter Courses (for chicken and goat)
STATE LEVEL
- Celebration of the Birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) by participating in a procession and attending sermons at the Abu Bakar Mosque
- Remembrance Day (Anniversary of the demise of Sultan Iskandar), held at the Royal Mausoleum and the Abu Bakar Mosque
- Attending prayers to welcome the First day of the Islamic Calendar Year at Abu Bakar Mosque
- Recital of Tahlil (Thanksgiving Prayers) the evening prior to royal ceremonies, including the birthday anniversary of HRH the Sultan, the coronation and royal weddings.
