Since its inception, the JMF has recorded success and achievements in various fields, thus enhancing its status as a military force. These accolades are etched for posterity in the glorious history of Johor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. 1895 <\/b>\u2013 The United States Consul General to the Straits Settlement E.   2. 1906 <\/b>\u2013 Led by HH Sultan Ibrahim on his magnificent charger, the JMF participated in a ceremonial parade with units of the British Army in Singapore on the occasion of the birthday of the King George Vl of England.<\/span>\n

  3. November 23, 1912<\/b> \u2013 Commendation by Sir Ian Hamilton, Overseas Inspector General of the British Army, after an inspection of the JMF at a parade in Singapore on the \u201csmartness and soldierly appearance and the efficiency and the smart turn out of the troops.\u201d<\/span>

May 11, 1916<\/b> \u2013 Presentation of JMF Regimental Colours by Sultan Ibrahim at Bukit Timbalan, as part of the 30th anniversary of the JMF witnessed by the Governor of the Straits Settlement. During the ceremony, Sultan Ibrahim was conferred the British Grand Commander of St. Michael and St. George (GCMG).<\/span>

    • 1924<\/b> \u2013 The JMF was noted for its marksmanship. A JMF team won the inaugural Royal Johor Challenge Cup, a shooting tournament, initiated by Sultan Ibrahim in 1923 as part of his 50th birthday celebrations. The JMF emerged champions for the next seven consecutive years.<\/span>

      • 1936<\/b> \u2013 The JMF was the first army unit in the Commonwealth to be issued with Braithwaite uniform and equipment; which took ten years of exhaustive experiment in England, and was not yet issued to the British Army. The equipment was named after Major General Sir Walter Braithwaite, who headed the committee that carried out experiments to find the perfect type.       • 1936<\/b>\u2013 The JMF was considered one of the best and most equipped infantry in the Far East, with a machine gun section that was equipped with Vickers guns mounted on mono-wheel vehicles suitable for jungle use.<\/span>

      • February 1, 1937<\/b> \u2013 JMF participated in the largest manoeuvre held by British forces east of the Mediterranean in Singapore. The JMF attacked \u201cwith great dash and vigour\u201d after landing near the Changi batteries.<\/span>

      • June 23, 1937<\/b> \u2013 HH Tunku Ismail, Regent of Johor, presented the bronze medals won by the JMF in the .303 Bisley Overseas Postal Match held in 1936.       • August 3, 1940<\/b> \u2013 Raja Ahmad bin Raja Ali, Tengku Abdul Jalil bin Mohd Nor, Yahya bin Yusof, and Ibrahim bin Ahmad of the JMF were the first batch of officers sent for military training at the Indian Military Academy at Dehra Dun.       • 1941<\/b>\u2013 JMF cadets Ibrahim Ismail, Ungku Ahmad bin Abdul Rahman and Hussein Onn were sent for military training at the Indian Military Academy at Dehra Dun.       • 1946<\/b> \u2013 Capt. Abdul Jabar bin Jaafar, Company Sargent Major Othman bin Daud, Corporal Ali bin Awang, Lance Corporal Ahmad bin Abdullah and Private Othman bin Ibrahim were deployed to join the Malaysian Contingent at the Victory Parade marking the end of WW ll in London.<\/span>

      • 1983<\/b> \u2013 HRH Crown Prince Tunku Ibrahim Ismail, the JMF Commanding Officer, formed a windsurfing team and competed in Desaru and Malacca.<\/span>

      • 1983<\/b> \u2013 HRH Tunku Ibrahim Ismail, the JMF Commanding Officer, formed a JMF motorcycle escort unit for the Sultan. The unit had 15 1979 Honda CB750K motorcycles and was formed with 13 JMF men, led by an officer, Lt Azman James Moore Abdul Wahid.<\/span>

      • October 19, 1983<\/b> \u2013 The JMF team which consisted of PWI Idris Bin Jek, Corporal Abd Fatah Bin A. Samad, Corporal Satimen Bin Selamat dan Corporal Anuar Bin Mahadi won the ATM plate shooting competition after defeating the Brunei Malay Forces. Other teams that took part in the competition are the New Zealand Forces, Australia Armed Forces, Bat 69 PDRM and Singapore Armed Forces.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

      • November 22, 2010<\/b> \u2013 DYAM Tunku Mahkota Tunku Ismail was appointed Parade Commander for the JMF guard of honour at the birthday ceremony of HRH Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Besar.       • November 17, 2011<\/b> \u2013 Major General Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, as Commandant performed the earth-breaking ceremony of the new Headquarters of the JMF on a 50 hectare site at Jalan Datin Halimah in Johor Bahru.
